A JOURNEY THAT CHANGED MY LIFE.
IT STARTS WITH
An Endless Passion for Music
For Discovery, for People, for Life...
Multi Genre DJ and Producer, Crag Sow, is a native of Appleby Cumbria, UK. In his earlier years when he started visiting clubs, he soon realised that music would overwhelm his senses. The joy it brought to him and others, and the power it had to control emotions, instantly hooked him. As he watched DJs such as Tall Paul, Stu Allen, Judge Jules, Brandon Block, Erick Morillo and others interactions with the crowd, Crag quickly discovered what he wanted to do with his life. With this new goal and wanting to learn as much as he could, he saved up and bought his first set of turntables, the legendary Technics 1210’s MK2, which he still owns today.
Crag holds and promotes events locally and if you were lucky enough to grace the dance floors of Brampton or Centre 67 many years ago you will know the impact it had on the local scene. These events have even made it possible for growing local talents to work side by side with big name DJs.
Once he had established himself locally he was head hunted by an events company Utopia. He did not realise that he would soon be playing alongside and warming up for the Dj’s he once looked up too. He not only became a resident DJ but also a manager for the events company Utopia. Which involved booking DJ’s, venues and promoting the events. Utopia would bring their club nights to some of the most popular venues over the UK including The Arches Glasgow, The Honeycombe Edinburgh, Fusion Workington plus many more. Utopia was the first events company to bring a large named DJ (Judge Jules) to play in Cumbria.
It has now been over 20 years since Crag entered the music scene. Initially, his focus was to help himself deal with and overcome his troubled childhood. However, today, as a completely self taught artist with years of non-stop hard work, learning and endless practice, he has turned djing into a way to help others escape their hardships. Knowing wholeheartedly that music is a source of happiness and well-being, his goal every night is to connect with his fans while creating an atmosphere that frees them from their stress, and encourages them to let go and have fun. In doing this, Crag wants to show his fans that no matter how hard life can get or has been, music can be a healthy distraction. Because of his ability to do this, Crag has been a member of the Kendal Calling music festival since 2017, where he serves as a Build Manager and Resident DJ.
In April 2019, he was also part of a record breaking group of DJs called Concept Audio Collective. Together, all 182 of them, preformed over an 11 hour back to back session, hosted by Joshua Brooks Manchester.
Alongside events such as these,. Continuing this and djing across the UK, Crag plans to expand his reach in music throughout the globe. To do so, he hopes to one day have his self produced and composed tracks released on his favourite labels of Toolroom Records, Defected Records, and Classic Music Company, inspired by his favourite Producer/DJ Paul Woolford. In 3 years tops, he also plans to release an album and host his own podcast radio show. Away from these future plans and outside of his career, he is a husband and father to two boys, dedicated to creating a meaningful, healthy and happy family home.
